Hello there. I am trying to set up a virtual machine using oracle to run my own minecraft server and everything works up until i need to run the server on tmux and when i try to do it, it said im unable to because it cant find the server jar file. it says server installed on tmux however the .jar file isnt in the directory. I am using commands from a youtube video from a year ago and those commands didnt work so believe it or not I asked Chat GPT and it spat out all the proper codes and everything and they all work but then I get to when I need to run this: "java -Xmx24G -Xms4G -jar forge-1.20.1-47.3.0.jar nogui" in order to start the server and it says unable to find it. Chat GPT gave me some solutions but it doesnt work. FileZilla might not be extracting it properly or idk maybe tmux is the issue but here is the whole convo with Chat GPT and what I was doing to fix this: https://pastebin.com/EDJDmAXw

This is for Forge 1.20.1 - 47.3.0

I dont know what to do and I have tried for a while to fix this but nothing on the internet has helped so I now turn to experts with forge for help.

Forgot to add the video I was referencing

Should I try downgrading the forge version? or maybe raising it?

Or possibly just copying the universal, jar or server.jar for forge 1.20.1-47.3.0 to filezilla directory so that it can find those files?

The "can't find the server jar file" error usually refers to an issue with Java

On the vm, what are the startup lines for the server?

If you are using something like

java -Xmx...

replace the word java with the java path on the vm (to the javaw.exe) and put it into quotation marks

Try my Modpack

This is the code for when JDK 17 is installing if there is a problem with java: https://pastebin.com/y6LxHzsa

This is when the forge is being installed from using "wget https://maven.minecraftforge.net/net/minecraftforge/forge/1.20.1-47.3.0/forge-1.20.1-47.3.0-installer.jar"  then using "java -jar forge-1.20.1-47.3.0-installer.jar --installServer" and the code as far up as it goes in putty without cutting off is: https://pastebin.com/eAmsDLGe
