[1.7.2] [Latest Forge] Allow minecraft Forge/FML through Windows 7 Firewall

Recommended Posts

Posted

So I have been having problems with Minecraft Forge and FML not loading worlds. I figured out it was my firewall. I have disabled both my windows and antivirus (Avast) and it now works. If anyone knows how to port forge into the firewalls and not minecraft itself (I have already done this), please leave a response below. Thank you very much for your time.

EDIT: I have disabled each firewall at a different time and when I had the avast enabled minecraft crashed. When Windows firewall was enabled and avast was disabled, it worked.

We use the same exact code that Minecraft does to do all the networking.

Avast seems to just be over zealious, you'd have to look into exactly how they determine what to block and what not to.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Just signed up when I saw this post- I'm having this exact issue. Took me days to figure out the problem was with the firewall blocking it (I'm using Avast too). Did you find out how to fix the issue? I'm not keen on having to disable my firewall every time I want to use Minecraft  :-\
