dustintinsley80 Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 I've been trying to install forge 1.7.2 and I keep getting Error Downloading msg. It says These Libraries failed to download. Try again. org.scala-lang:scala-library:2.10.2, org.scala-lang:scala-compiler:2.10.2 I'm running windows7, I've changed my minecraft to 1.7.2 and opened it up then quit and saved. Then tried. I also turned off my fire wall. I'm also running microsoft security and shut it off too but, it still gives me the same error. I have also tried this with 1.6.4 with the same error msg. I don't have any other modloaders. I installed forge on 2 other computers we are using with no problems. The only difference from the 3 computers is that this one is running 32bit win and the other 2 are 64 bit. I deleted the minecraft folders and redownloaded with the same results.(I backed up my saves and resource packs first) I'm just starting to learn how to do all this stuff. I searched the forums and couldn't find an answer that would work for me. Any ideas? Quote

LexManos Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Run the jar from the command line and give us that log. Also, try giving it more memory as a guess. Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon

LexManos Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Thats a odd error, preliminary research says that to solve it you need to reinstall java. But it's important to UNINTSTALL java THEN run the java installer. Quote I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. dustintinsley80 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 I'll give that a try but it will have to wait until tomorrow. Quote
dustintinsley80 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 So I've uninstalled and reinstalled java several times. It says java installed but then javas site is unable to verify java. I've shut down firewall and microsoft security while doing all of this. I have also check the java control panel and the browser settings and everything is set for java to work correctly. And I still can't get Forge to install. I'm getting the same msg. I tried to install from cmd again here is the log from that I don't know if it is any different from the first one. Is anyone else having this problem? I removed the log from this post as it was long and I no longer see a need for it to be posted. Quote
dustintinsley80 Posted February 5, 2014 Author Posted February 5, 2014 I got it to work! So after much searching I found the answer in the EAQ that I some how missed yesterday in my searches. Yeah, I know, dumb. Just to finish this thread here is the answer. These libraries failed to download. Try again. org.scala-lang:scala-library:2.10.2, org.scala-lang:scala-compiler:2.10.2 Download this: https://bitbucket.org/luacs1998/forgelibrarydownloads/downloads/fmllibs16.zip and extract it to your .minecraft folder, then try running Minecraft, or redownload the installer. Now I'm not sure if I did this the way I'm supposed to but when I clicked extract I could not pick the .minecraft folder from the drop down menu. So I went to my start menu search for %appdata% then on my .minecraft folder I right clicked and selected properties. From there I copied the location and pasted that into the extraction menu. Everything seemed to go as planed. I then used the cmd to do the forge install so I would have the log if it didn't work again. But I got the successfully installed msg. Now when I open minecraft, Forge is there just as it should be. I still don't know why it wouldn't install the way it is supposed to but I'm just happy it works now. Quote
