Custom Modpack - "Errors in currently selected data packs prevented the world from loading" because "Overworld settings missing"

Featured Replies

Been fiddling with this for a while, my current issue now is that I can play for a bit but when I save and quit and try to join the world again later, with or without restarting the launcher, it doesn't let me join the world again for "Errors in currently selected data packs prevented the world from loading" and the log says "Overworld settings missing." I've found other references to this problem and tried several fixes, nothing has worked. It won't even let me run in safemode.

Deleting level.dat and renaming level.dat_old to level.dat didn't work.

There are no data packs in any folders, I've even tried deleting the data pack folders just in case. No results.

I've had this happen to multiple worlds so far with less than an hour of progress in them, and I don't have the ability to figure the issue out myself. I don't have and shaders, the full mod list is in the log (Part 1). Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Size limit forced me to split up the log. (Mod List is near beginning in Part 1)

Make a test without the mod bettervillage

Thank you for the response!

I removed bettervillage and its library mod.

I couldn't load into an old world for the same issue, created a new world, generated a few chunks when I loaded in, then saved and exited. Same issue occurred when I tried to join that world again even without restarting the entire application.

I figured it out! I spent several hours testing and removing mods and looking up the issue trackers/comment sections for the mod or mods I removed, ended up having success after removing "Traverse Reforged" and their issue tracker has two open bug reports for the exact issue I reported.

Here's a link to the other issues.

Can you tell me if that makes any sense to you based on what you could see? Just for my curiosity.

There is nothing mentioned in the logs

I suspect Traverse writes invalid data to the world/region files (biome data), which doesn't cause issues while playing

When reloading the world, Minecraft is unable to read (parse) this biome data

Try my Modpack
