I am running Ubuntu 12.04 with forge server.  It works great, but where the hell is the mods folder so I can run things like buildcraft?

The sever has no .minecraft folder or mods folder anywhere.  It created some files and folders in the directory where the minecraft_server.1.7.2.jar resides.

The mods folder is in the working directory, so, wherever you run the server.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Thanks that worked great.

I put buildcraft on the server and it works.  But, it seems like it only works when the client has buildcraft installed as well.  Is this normal.

Yes... How do you expect the client to know what a quarry, or a pipe look like unless they have the mod? How do they know what items are added or how they function?

Yes, you need to have the client mods.

I am really new to this.  In my world, most applications run server-side.  Thanks for the info.
