Hello,

by default the Incremental Garbage collector (java option: -xincgc) is enabled.

Is there any particular (crashes) reason for it to be enabled or is it just for the ram performance?

Why?

I have to use the serial garbage collector for method hot-swapping to work...

I believe the reason is because it is (on average) the most performant and most widely supported.

Relying upon any specific Garbage Collection VM setting for your mod is a -bad idea-.  You have no guarantees that your users would have that GC type enabled.

It is just for debugging purposes. I have a Plugin that enables you to hot-swap whole classes and structural changes. Normally only method-bodies are possible.

Where did you get that plugin? I would be very interested in that plugin as it makes debugging way easier, as you can just modify it while the game is open, instead of needing to re-open Minecraft.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.

It is totally awesome :D

Since I use IntelliJ Idea I don't know if it exists for Eclipse.

Here is its download repo: (you can also search for it in IntelliJ Idea itself)

And here is a tutorial on how to use it.

Don't forget to enable the serial garbage collector for it to work. I haven't noticed any lag by using it.
