[Solved] Can't figure out how to install Forge

I followed the guide at www.minecraftforge.net/wiki/Installation/Universal with the forge-1.8-11.14.0.1299-installer.jar and then forge-1.6.4-9.11.1.953-installer.jar install files, but both gave me the message "You need to run the version x.x.x manually at least once."

Maybe there is a miscommunication; You can see minecraft running in this screenshot. Do I need to run something else first? This is my first installation attempt for anything minecraft-related except for minecraft itself. I have no other mods or anything.

Help would be much appreciated!

So Minecraft 1.8.3 doesn't count as Minecraft 1.8; I have to run Minecraft 1.8.0 and then run either Forge 1.8 or Forge 1.6?

Forge is locked to EXACT minecraft versions due to how Mojang releases Minecraft. Sadly, there is nothing we can do about that.

So the 1.8 version will ONLY work on 1.8, or 1.8.0 as it's called in the launcher, 1.8.0 doesn't actually exist there is no .0 in the name :P

1.6.4 Forge will only work on MC 1.6.4, 1.7.10 on 1.7.10 etc. etc..

So yes you need to be careful which version of Minecraft you install.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
