Hi,

I was wondering how to export a mod from Eclipse in Minecraft 1.8. Here is me build.gradle:

buildscript {
repositories
{
mavenCentral()
maven {
name = "forge"
url = "http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven"
}
maven {
name = "sonatype"
url = "https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/"
}
}
dependencies
{
classpath "net.minecraftforge.gradle:ForgeGradle:1.2-SNAPSHOT"
}
}

apply plugin: "forge"

sourceSets
{
main
{
java { srcDirs = ["$projectDir/java"] }
resources { srcDirs = ["["$projectDir/resources"] }
}
}

archivesBaseName = "UltraCraft"
version = "1.0.0"
minecraft.version = "1.8-11.14.1.1334"

But is says BUILD FAILED because of the $ in

java { srcdirs = ["$projestDir/java"] }

I am running Windows 7, in case that modifies anything.

Thanks for any help!

Sup bruh.

it should be like this;

buildscript {
    repositories {
        mavenCentral()
        maven {
            name = "forge"
            url = "http://files.minecraftforge.net/maven"
        }
        maven {
            name = "sonatype"
            url = "https://oss.sonatype.org/content/repositories/snapshots/"
        }
    }
    dependencies {
        classpath 'net.minecraftforge.gradle:ForgeGradle:1.2-SNAPSHOT'
    }
}

apply plugin: 'forge'

version = "1.8.0-0.2"
group= "net.extend.mod"
archivesBaseName = "extend"

minecraft {
    version = "1.8-11.14.1.1354"
    runDir = "eclipse"
    mappings = "snapshot_20141130"
}

dependencies {
}

processResources
{
    inputs.property "version", project.version
    inputs.property "mcversion", project.minecraft.version
    from(sourceSets.main.resources.srcDirs) {
        include 'mcmod.info'
        expand 'version':project.version, 'mcversion':project.minecraft.version
    }
    from(sourceSets.main.resources.srcDirs) {
        exclude 'mcmod.info'
    }
}

if you change this code, you need to register projectDir if you didn't.

Okay, now that I've done that, Minecraft sees that there are four mods (yay!). But, the problem is, there is no content. I have:

[ultraCraft is my MODID]

src/main/java/resources/assets/UltraCraft/models/item/SteelIngot.json

and

src/main/java/resources/assets/UltraCraft/textures/items/SteelIngot.png

I also have programmed a creative tab:

package uc.tabs;

import net.minecraft.creativetab.CreativeTabs;
import net.minecraft.item.Item;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.Mod.EventHandler;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.event.FMLInitializationEvent;
import net.minecraftforge.fml.common.registry.GameRegistry;
import uc.mainmod.UltraCraft;

public class MechanicalItemsTab {
@EventHandler
public void Init(FMLInitializationEvent initEvent) {
	UltraCraft.mechanicalItemsTab = new CreativeTabs("Mechanical Items") {
	    public Item getTabIconItem() {
	        return UltraCraft.steelIngot;
	    }
	};
}
}

But that doesn't show up either. What am I doing wrong?

Sup bruh.

Have you ever check second page? Because first page is totally full and new tabs created with new page.

Ok I create new tab on my pc and check it;

I have create in my main class a Creative tab;

public static CreativeTabs CreativeTabs_New;

After that, in my main class inside of Init event;

    CreativeTabs_New = new CreativeTabs("New") {
		@Override
		public Item getTabIconItem() {
			return itemref.blackDiamond;
		}
	};

And the result;

gk7q9b.png

I don't have blackdiamond texture yet don't thing code is wrong :P

And a question;

Did you register your creative tab class under the Initialization event?

Posted

Did you register your creative tab class under the Initialization event?

Yes, here is the code:

@EventHandler

public void Init(FMLInitializationEvent initEvent) {

UltraCraft.mechanicalItemsTab = new CreativeTabs("Mechanical Items") {

    public Item getTabIconItem() {

        return UltraCraft.steelIngot;

    }

};

}

Well, now that it's in my main class, it loads, but when I click the arrow to go the next page, the game crashes:

I don't understand what the problem is but if you use TeamViewer I can come to your pc and help you to create tab and maybe I can see the problem. If you send your crash report from file, it can give us more information about problem. Also If you use skype I can help you with sharing desktop :) My skype is same with my nickname

You should initialize item first before initializing creative tab..

I. Stellarium for Minecraft: Configurable Universe for Minecraft! (WIP)

II. Stellar Sky, Better Star Rendering&Sky Utility mod, had separated from Stellarium.

Posted

You initialize your item before the creative is initialized. You are now setting the creative tab to

UltraCraft.mechanicalItemsTab

before the CreativeTabs is initialized, so you actually set the creative tab to null. You need to either initialize your creative tab in a static initializer, or before the item is initialized.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.

Okay, so now I have it initialize SteelIngot by saying

steelIngot = new SteelIngot();

in my main class. The game now throws this error:
