Mod Signature Data: Server Debug bugging me.

Osky2918

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a way of make my server happier by adding the signatures (valid certificate), that I have in disposal, to my server files.

I do know this is completely unnecessary for the normal server admin, but feel the need of completion.

FML do have it's data but Forge is missing it's.

I'm writing this in general. I'm not bound to version numbers nor mods active.

I'm happy to any response that give me more insight into this.

Happy regards Osky2918, have a good day!

Don't mess it up like I did!

What?

What exactly are you referring to.... What are you expecting to be there but is not...

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

I may was not clear about that and what I meant was the when I read through the log file.

(I would include it but I'm not at my pc atm.)

The log basically tells me that FML do have it's checksum and Forge do not.

I can run the server perfectly, I just like them to be equally treated.

Don't mess it up like I did!

Post your log to specify what exactly you're talking about.

The Minecraft server is not signed, blame mojang for that.

As for Forge, it is signed, client and server alike. As it's the same file.

So again, What exactly are you talking about, you say the log tells you something well post the dang log!

I struggled to get this so quick.

No need to get mad. I got this log remotely from school, it's not the same Forge version but my point still apply.

I'm deeply sorry if this is something that only works for *latest* version of forge, but I find this would not matter which version.

The part of the log I'm interested in is:

[

[server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: Mod signature data

[server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: mcp(Minecraft Coder Pack:9.05): minecraft.jar (NO VALID CERTIFICATE FOUND)

[server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: FML(Forge Mod Loader:7.10.103.1352): FTBServer.jar (e3c3d50c7c986df74c645c0ac54639741c90a557)

[server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: Forge(Minecraft Forge:10.13.2.1352): FTBServer.jar (NO VALID CERTIFICATE FOUND)

The server found FML:s certificate (mod signature data), but didn't find those for mcp, Forge and some other irrelevant mods as seen in the complete log file under here.

The log is to big to copy to pastebin. So I uploaded it on dropbox.

So what if it's not signed? 95% of the mods aren't signed either, it doesn't stop them from working. My server also has no signature:

[17:00:27] [server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: Mod signature data
[17:00:27] [server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: mcp(Minecraft Coder Pack:9.05): minecraft.jar (NO VALID CERTIFICATE FOUND)
[17:00:27] [server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: FML(Forge Mod Loader:7.10.85.1291): minecraft_server.jar (e3c3d50c7c986df74c645c0ac54639741c90a557)
[17:00:27] [server thread/DEBUG] [FML/]: Forge(Minecraft Forge:10.13.2.1291): minecraft_server.jar (NO VALID CERTIFICATE FOUND)

As Lex said the minecraft jar isn't signed because it's mojang's and they didn't sign it. Not sure if forge is supposed to be signed but I don't think it's a big deal if it's not.

I'm sorry I'm bugging you with what's bugging me.

That why I make about one topic a year in this forum.
