Latest version doesn't launch. (No mods installed)

Recommended Posts

I believe I did all the steps right, downloaded the latest version, played 1.8 at least once, ran the installer properly, and when it starts up the game, I can see forge loading, but when it finishes and launches the game, I get the following:

Actually, found a (partial) solution after digging a bit deeper: http://www.minecraftforge.net/forum/index.php/topic,30509.0.html

look into User/Library/Application Support/minecraft/config and open the splash.properties and open it with text edit.

One line should say enable:true

change it to enable:false

save it.

Play and it should work. lol answered my own question, but thanks :P

I guess this can be closed.

1) thats nowhere near the latest version

2) If you were on the latest version that would have a much friendlier error message telling you what the issue was.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
