so after receiving a warning for bumping an old thread I've concluded that the most appropriate option is to create a new thread, or at least I assume since I don't know who to PM back. Anyway, to the point. I know Forge in the past has been unofficially  compatible with realms in the past by changing the json file, but that apparently hasn't been able to work recently, but my question is is there any way to be able to get that currently work?

Update Forge, we no longer specify the realms library in our json so there is no update process needed, mojang controls that part now.

How about you actually follow the rules of the support section and POST LOGS, or actually STATE WHAT IS WRONG.

 

“How about you actually" would have better replaced by 'please.' And was it not clear that I can no longer join realms with Forge by changing the json file? That is 'what was wrong'. There is no crash log, or report or anything else to post. It just says your client is outdated,  please consider updating it. I don't think a screenshot or anything in the specific instance would be of any real help.

Of course your client is outdated. It's 1.8 not 1.8.7.

That would make sense. So if I surmise correctly there is nothing I can do at the moment besides wait?

Yup, Mojang decided to change the protocol version in 1.8.7 for unknown reasons, you'll have to wait.
