Block emitting more than 15 blocks long redstone power

Hey,

 

is there a way to emit a redstone signal with a range of more than 15 blocks?

 

If you return more than 15 in the "isProvidingWeakPower"- and "isProvidingStrongPower"-methods it still provides a 15 block wide redstone power.

Not unless you create your own wire, vanilla redstone can only store power levels 0-15.
