Says I have an outdated server, but I don't?

I'm trying to join a couple pixelmon servers, but every single one that runs on forge 1.8 wont let me on and says "Outdated server! I'm still on 1.7.10" even though I have the latest version installed. It even confirms it at the main screen that I'm on minecraft 1.8 and that I have forge 1.8 11.14.3.1502. I have tried many times to fix it, but it keeps saying the same thing. HELP!!!

    The SERVER is running 1.7.10.

    I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
