[1.7.10] My friend seem to have problems getting even one minecraft mod to run.

My friend can't seem to get any minecraft 1.7.10 modpack or even a single 1.7.10 mod to work. Even though she can get minecraft 1.8 mods, and modpacks. Any ideas what might be going on?
