Posted August 25, 201510 yr I have a mod that I created to do some simple world fill, delete, and copy/paste for ease of building. I have a question around TileEntities, specifically chests. When I copy a portion of the world with the chest, I would like the chest contents to be included. Easy enough, grab the nbt from the tile when copying. After the paste when I write the nbt data back in, getting a world crash to the point where I can't reload the world. I 'think' its because I just pasted in nbt that has position references for the tile that are wrong since it moved. Anybody got experience with doing this? Am I going to have to carve out just the inventory part of the nbt data and deal with that? Long time Bukkit & Forge Programmer Happy to try and help
August 25, 201510 yr Yes, you are right. Before reading from nbt to te, change integers in nbt: "x", "y", "z" to valid values (pos of new te). Check out my mods: BTAM Armor sets Avoid Exploding Creepers Tools compressor Anti Id Conflict Key bindings overhaul Colourfull blocks Invisi Zones

August 26, 201510 yr Hi One of my mods does this http://www.planetminecraft.com/mod/build-faster--four-tools-to-make-your-creative-life-easier/ There's quite a bit involved, not just NBT. You may get useful clues from here https://github.com/TheGreyGhost/SpeedyTools/tree/master/src/main/java/speedytools/serverside/worldmanipulation see WorldFragment.writeToWorldAsynchronous_do() Also - 1.8. has an inbuilt command to copy a range of blocks. Your code could just call that instead. -TGG
