So I am wondering if it is possible to draw a cube above an entity. No matter what kind of entity it is.

Where should I start, with event handler? Because ther isn't an actual event for every entity rendered, is it?

public static void drawCube(double x, double y, double z) {
        GL11.glBegin(GL11.GL_QUADS);
        GL11.glColor3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.0f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, 0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, 0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f);

        GL11.glColor3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.0f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, -0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, -0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, -0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, -0.5f, -0.5f);

        GL11.glColor3f(0.5f, 0.0f, 0.0f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, -0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, -0.5f, 0.5f);

        GL11.glColor3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.0f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, -0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, -0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, 0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, 0.5f, -0.5f);

        GL11.glColor3f(0.0f, 0.0f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, 0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, -0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(-0.5f, -0.5f, 0.5f);

        GL11.glColor3f(0.5f, 0.0f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, 0.5f, -0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, 0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, -0.5f, 0.5f);
        GL11.glVertex3f(0.5f, -0.5f, -0.5f);

        GL11.glEnd();

        GL11.glTranslated(x, y, z);

I'd take a look at how armor is rendered, then just use that to produce the cube over the entities head. I know as of 1.8, Minecraft uses a "layered" armor system. But, I have not been able to figure out how to utilize it correctly. :/

I am not a cat. I know my profile picture is sexy and amazing beyond anything you could imagine but my cat like features only persist in my fierce eyes. I might be a cat.

But how should that work on an EntityItem? I don't think armor is implemented for an EntityItem.

I said look at how armor is rendered on the player, not armor itself. You could use that system to render a cube above an entities head.

For me it seems more like like its an ArrayList, and in this array list all textures are rendered, nothing I could use I guess, or can I?

I now figured out how I wanna do it. That way

@SubscribeEvent
    public void renderGameOverlayEvent(RenderWorldLastEvent event) {
        EntityPlayer player = mc.thePlayer;
        if (getItemPlayerIsLookingAt(player) != null) {
            if (getItemPlayerIsLookingAt(player) instanceof EntityItem) {
                EntityItem item = (EntityItem) getItemPlayerIsLookingAt(player);
                RenderHelper.drawCube(item.posX, item.posY, item.posZ);
            }
        }
    }

But my problem is, no matter what I try, the cube will always stick to my feet

If anyone knows how to move that cube away, feel free to leave a reply

I love how you add a translation after you finish drawing.

    • In France, we deeply value financial security and independence. After my divorce, my life took a chaotic turn, and amidst all the turmoil, I misplaced the backup phrase for my Bitcoin wallet, which held a significant amount, $220,000. I was already grappling with emotional challenges, and the thought of losing my Bitcoin felt like the final blow. In moments like these, I couldn't help but think of the French saying, “Il ne faut jamais dire jamais,” which means “Never say never.” Little did I know that this would become a mantra for my recovery journey. I spent days searching for that elusive phrase, going through old documents and turning my apartment upside down, but it was as if the universe had conspired against me—the backup was simply gone. Feeling desperate and overwhelmed, I confided in a friend who works in the cryptocurrency space. He recommended Hack Buster Recovery, mentioning that they had helped many French investors in similar situations. Skeptical but out of options, I decided to reach out. From the moment I contacted Hack Buster Recovery, I was struck by their understanding of my situation. They were professional and compassionate, reassuring me that I wasn’t alone in this struggle. Their team quickly got to work, explaining the recovery process in a way that put my mind at ease. It was clear they had dealt with cases like mine before, WEBSITE: hackbusters.online
