Posted January 17, 20169 yr Can someone write a tutotial how to load 3d models? Old .OBJ tutorial are not working in new versions.
January 17, 20169 yr 1. Use Techne or the Tabula-mod to create a 3D-Model. I recommend Tabula, because Techne is a bit outdated 2. Export it as a Java-class 3. Copy the Java-class to your mod 4. Write a Renderer like this (adjust it with your things): https://github.com/TheOnlySilverClaw/Reforged/blob/master/java/org/silvercatcher/reforged/render/RenderJavelin.java 5. Write an Entity 6. Registering everything: In your CommonProxy (IN THE PRE-INIT-METHOD) : private void registerEntities() { int count = 1; EntityRegistry.registerModEntity(CLASSOFTHEENTITY, "NAMEOFTHEENTITY", count++, YOURMODCLASS.instance, 120, 3, true); } In your ClientProxy (IN THE INIT-METHOD) : private void registerEntities() { RenderManager manager = Minecraft.getMinecraft().getRenderManager(); RenderingRegistry.registerEntityRenderingHandler(CLASSOFTHEENTITY, new CLASSOFTHERENDERER(manager))); } Bringing the best mod back alive! January 18, 20169 yr Author Thank you both, I will try it, but it is convenient for me to load .obj. Can someone write a tutotial how to load 3d models? Can you describe it in more detail? Or may be give me a link to some tutorial?
January 18, 20169 yr There is no tutorial because it's that simple for calling it. Literally just call that method in a Model Bake Event handler. Once the model is baked that's what's linked to that file call. If you need help with even handlers there are plenty of tutorials out and about for that. I think its my java of the variables.
