MCP not dowloading with forge source?

Recommended Posts

So I'm trying to set up a workspace for 1.7.10 so I can explore some open source mods, specifically smart moving. I've found a few tutorials, and gotten through a few java problems without having to ask anyone. I got the workspace and stuff set up, I have eclipse, but it appears that MCP was not downloaded when I ran the gradle command in the CMD.

Here's the CMD from the gradle set up:

BUILD SUCCESSFUL

So it looks like it worked, but I can't run minecraft from my eclipse environment, and the only source files in there are the example mod ones. I don't know if that's normal and/or I'm missing something, cause it's been a while since I last set up the source, and it all worked out that time.

Oh, maybe it's cause I'm using the latest forge for 1.7.10, instead of the recommended? I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated, and I'm sorry If I put this in the wrong section.

Thanks, m19

What happens if you try to run Minecraft? The source for forge will be in the libraries, you cannot edit it.

I can't run Minecraft. Pressing the run button in eclipse spits out the message "the selection cannot be launched, and there are no recent launches"

There are also none of the usual "run client" or "run server" options in the drop down menu under the run button. When I try to add them manually, eclipse says "Error: Could not find or load main class net.minecraft.launchwrapper.launch".

Apologies for the late response.

Thanks, m19

EDIT: I have just found the actual forge source and I realize now what you mean by not being able to edit it. I also found that the launch.class I was trying to reference is actually Launch.class, and I forgot the capital L. Now eclipse tries to run minecraft, but it gets another, much longer error. I'll stick it in a spoiler below.

    • https://mclo.gs/NQ786zI   I don’t understand what I need to do.
    • I am wanting to give the armour in my mod special properties, but I have no idea how to do so.   For the first armour set I want it to be the case that when the full set is worn it has the properties of a carved pumpkin, making it so you won't aggravate endermen when you look at them.    The second, and presumably harder property is that for the second set I would like it to be the case that when the full set is worn, you can walk over the void without falling. (I was considering using the levitation to accomplish this but I wanted to check beforehand).   Would both of these specialities be achievable for each armour set and how exactly would they both be done? Help would be much appreciated.
    • I finally got my Forge server up and running thanks to the help of the people on this forum and played fine for a day. Now since I started playing today, the server runs for 20-30 minutes then freezes and kicks everyone out but stays up and running but won't let anyone connect. Here is the latest debug log and crashlog from the server. Thank you for reading & helping   https://gist.github.com/Dwolfwoood/d0410e581c86772694f1d8007431c409   https://gist.github.com/Dwolfwoood/b5d521fd071dbfcc816949924757fef9
    • I got the infamous crash log that you get when you have a mod or multiple mods that are incompatible with the version being used. however.. I have no idea which ones are wrong. I was hoping the forums could help me figure it out. does the crsh report tell me and im just dumb?
