So I just barely picked up modding and i was doing mrcrayfish's tutorial and i got got my mod to load my blocks texture in my hand but when i put it down it becomes the purple and black block.

 

Can anyone help?

Your models/item json file loads fine, as you say you see it when holding it. Do you have a models/block json file as well?

 

Any errors in the console or the FML logs after launching the client?
