I went to the forge website, and selected the version of forge that matched the version of the game Im trying to play?

What launcher are you using?

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

Ive tried with a program called multimc? that seemed popular, and I have tried with curse as well.

My goal is to get one of the "newer" modpacks for mc to run. 1.8.9 1.9.4 and 1.10 versions have all failed to launch for the same reason so far. thanks for looking into this guys!

This is caused by either having a corrupt install or using a broken launcher.

Delete the libraries folder, reinstall Forge and use the vanilla launcher.
