Hello, i am Alex and i am trying to develop my own modpack, In the past the only thing i added were new blocks armor tools ect, now i am working on a bigger addon to my modpack.

I will explain the basic idea:

I made around 6 armor types and 6 sword types.

Now what i want is to add a few new Levels and display them with their values on the side.

When the player is level 1 in say the skill defence he can use the first armor type.

when he kills a mob 1 xp gets added to the skill.

when he kills 10 mobs he gets level 2.

20 mobs level 3.

35 mobs level 4 ect.

once a player has reached a certain level he can wear the next armor.

I would like to have the current level display on the sidebar.

I have a basic knowledge of java but i have no idea how to begin on this.

i would love to have some help.

you can also skype me: alex.schopbarteld

You will need a Capability on player entities to store the XP.

You can use

LivingDeathEvent

to detect when the player kills a mob.

You can use

isValidArmor

in your

Item

class to allow or deny a player to equip a specific piece of armor.

I added the Capability, but i dont know how to test if it works ;(

I cant find anything on livingdeathevent and isvalid armor, do you have a example code?

@SubscribeEvent
public void onLivingDeath(LivingDeathEvent event) {
     // Do exp handling
}

isValid(...) should be in item or ItemArmor

The method is actually called isValidArmor() in 1.10.2 and is contained in Item.

To be more specific this is the declaration

public boolean isValidArmor(ItemStack stack, EntityEquipmentSlot armorType, Entity entity)

Basicly everything i need works, the only thing i now need is how to get the players value of the capability and use it in a if and else statements.

An i need to set up an eventhandler for if a player kills a mob his score gets set to the mount of mobs he killed, current code:

public class ItemRunecraftArmour extends ItemArmor {

@Override

public boolean isValidArmor(ItemStack stack, int armorType, Entity entity) {

return false;

}

public ItemRunecraftArmour(ArmorMaterial material, int renderIndex, int armorType, String unlocalizedName) {

super(material, renderIndex, armorType);

this.setUnlocalizedName(unlocalizedName);

this.setCreativeTab(Runecraft.Runecraft_Equipment);

}

}

Check if entity is an instance of EntityPlayer and from there look for methods that have the word capability in them.
