Posted December 25, 201212 yr I added a crafting recipe for spawners but if I don't have NEI installed I only get Pigs is there a way to fix this with out editing the basecode that does that.
December 25, 201212 yr you could make the block have a metadata and by the metadata create a new MobSpawnerTileEntity and then do a public void setMobID(String par1Str) { this.mobID = par1Str; }//In MobSpawnerTileEntity based on the metadat you could make a switch with the correct mobID to be placed The Korecraft Mod
December 25, 201212 yr Author I made it so you can craft the normal spawners but I have to NEI for it to give me the right spawner.
December 26, 201212 yr yes, make it so each spawner you have crafted have a certain metadata and when placed if metadata = i then setMobID("mobName") The Korecraft Mod
December 26, 201212 yr Author I am using the vnalia spawners and I don't think that will work for them because there is no metadata only large then 15 number for what mob to spawn.
December 27, 201212 yr Author Still need help with this and I am not making new spawners I am using the ones coded in to minecraft!!!
December 27, 201212 yr yes, i know but im saying make a block to hold the certain spawners id and then when placed it turns into a spawner The Korecraft Mod
December 29, 201212 yr well you just make a block called spawnerFake and have it when placed try if(metadata == i)setMobID("mobName") The Korecraft Mod
January 1, 201312 yr Author How would I tell if it was placed?? Or if it was Destoryed to give them the block back sorry but I have only made blocks that do nothing.
January 3, 201312 yr just go in your block file and type this. and look through everything... that gives inspiration. also it is onBlock something so type this.onBlock and then go to your super class and find that method and copy it and Whalaa you are done The Korecraft Mod
March 11, 201312 yr In response to op: Have an item ItemSpawner.class When ItemSpawner.class is right clicked set a mob spawner and the mob type. Decrease ItemSpawner stack size. Because I'm a nice guy, here's some code ItemSpawner.class public class ItemSpawner extends Item{ public ItemSpawner(int par1) { super(par1); maxStackSize = 64; setIconIndex(0); this.setTextureFile(MainProxy.ITEMS_PNG); } public boolean onItemUse(ItemStack par1ItemStack, EntityPlayer par2EntityPlayer, World par3World, int par4, int par5, int par6, int par7, float par8, float par9, float par10){ par3World.setBlockWithNotify(par4, par5, par6, Block.mobSpawner.blockID); TileEntityMobSpawner spawner = (TileEntityMobSpawner)par1World.getBlockTileEntity(par3, par4, par5); if(spawner != null) { spawner.setMobID( *** String goes here (mobType) ***); } if (!par2EntityPlayer.capabilities.isCreativeMode) { --par1ItemStack.stackSize; } return false; } }
March 24, 201312 yr Author Your code broke in 1.5.1 and i can't find anyway to fix it other then coding in my own spawners.
March 24, 201312 yr Look, if you want US to make spawners FOR you, that's not going to happen. Make a new block (basic tutorials EVERYWHERE) copy ALL code needed for mobspawners and add the code necesairy to register the tile entity and what not. you can even add metadata to your block, and in the block file, make a switch from that metadata ( switch(this.getMetadata) ) or something like that. change the string for each case, add break points. That's all you need. that's what i did to make a custom mob spawn in custom dungeons. it works just fine. dont tell me it doesnt. nuff said, and good luck ! https://minecraft.curseforge.com/members/Subaraki/projects
March 24, 201312 yr Author I have tryed making my own spawner in 1.4.7 and it did not work. My problem is titleentitymobspawner no long has .setmob in it and my item does not work now I have spent over 2 hours trying to fix it.
March 27, 201312 yr Author Still no help and you all think I want the code when I just want some help all I need are the snippets that do the spawning stuff because I have my block and or item. And I know how to code java with out learning it from reading the code so don't bug me on that.
