Recommended Posts

When I run minecraft from eclipse, the item that I added into the game has a purple and black texture. I have no idea why!

My cheese.png is 16x16 pixels.

My ItemCheese.json is under src/main/resources/assets/rm/models/item

My cheese.png is under src/main/resources/assets/rm/textures/items

Here is the latest.log

Stop using the model mesher.  Use ModelLoader.setCustomModelResourceLocation

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

I changed the

ModItems.java to ModelLoader.setCustomModelResrouceLocation(item, 0, new ModelResourceLocation(item.getRegistryName(), "inventory"));

and it still doesn't work, I get a purple texture in the game.

package tntdiamond.regidmod.init;

import net.minecraft.client.Minecraft;
import net.minecraft.item.Item;
import net.minecraft.client.renderer.block.model.ModelResourceLocation;
import net.minecraftforge.client.model.ModelLoader;

public static void init() {
	cheese = new ItemCheese();
}

public static void register() {
	GameRegistry.register(cheese);
}

public static void registerRenders() {
	registerRender(cheese);
}

private static void registerRender(Item item) {
	ModelLoader.setCustomModelResourceLocation(item, 0, new ModelResourceLocation(item.getRegistryName(), "inventory"));	}
}

Also, do you have UnlocalizedName and RegistryName for this ItemCheese?

I can tell you're following MrCrayfish's tutorial, am I right? :D

And yes, where do you call ModItems.registerRenders()?

Lastly, you are not MrCrayfish, please change your information...

Your json filename must be the registry name of your Item. Show us your

ItemCheese

class - are you setting the registry name?

Also, if you want your item to display like a 'standard' vanilla item, you can set the parent to

item/generated

and then you don't need to set the displays manually. The displays you have set in your json won't actually do anything in this case anyway, because since dual-wielding was introduced the displays for each hand are defined separately - i.e.

"thirdperson_righthand"

,

"firstperson_righthand"

.
