Hi, I'm very new to Minecraft and am trying to install the My Little Pony mod for my daughter but having problems so hoping someone can steer me in the right direction.

I've installed Minecraft 1.11.2 on to my windows 10 laptop. have also installed both Forge and LifeLoader and then downloaded My Little Pony and pasted the file "mod_minelp_1_7.10.1.litemod" into the mod folder, but within the mod folder was a folder named 11.2 and when Mine Little Pony wouldn't load I tried pasting the file in the 11.2 folder and restarting it but that didn't work either as nothing showed in the LiteLoader 1.11.2 launcher.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Your problem is you're trying to install a mod for minecraft 1.7.10 on minecraft 1.11.2. A lot of stuff has changed since then, so it definitely won't work. You'll need to install minecraft 1.7.10 and then forge for that version.

I'll put something here when I have something of value I need to put at the end of every post. For now it's this mostly pointless text.

I've now installed it on a Mac instead and showed some screenshots that show it's almost complete but seems to be a step missing which am hoping someone might be able to spot?

A missing mcmod.info file isn't an error, so it should work fine. If it's something else that's wrong, what exactly is that?

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.
