Hey, i need help. I successfully installed forge for 1.8.9,1.8 and 1.11. That was with no warning or admin password. Now when i try to download it for 1.7.10 it comes up with a different logo and its a 'unknown' source!' I have a windows laptop so i use the windows installer. When i try with the normal installer button it comes up with a interent explorer logo! I want this to be fixed so i can continue playing with mods, thanks!

Explain exactly what you are download, provide screenshoots/direct links.

You should never be asked for an admin password as we don't do anything that requires admin rights.

Minecraft is installed in the user directory which your user has access to.

Unless you change it to somewhere else.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.

With v1.6.4 it looks like it worked but then it needs admin rights

But v1.7.10 just goes wrong.

Could forge re-update to 1.7.10

No, the 1.6.4 installers are fine. They still shouldn't require admin access but its a matter of launch4j being a hackish system.

If/when we do re-build launcher for older versions we'll do it with our new system that's being developed. But that probably won't be for a while as they currently work fine.

The 1.7.10 in your screenshot looks fine as well, thats just the default icon for launch4j.

Both require admin passwords when i click on them...The v1.7.10 does not look right as it is  a complete different badge. Have you got any suggestions to fix this?

It may be a glitch, if so please fix it

Screenshot below;

It seems to say src

Im not sure if that effects it because on all the versions it worked on its say MDK

1) As I said before the icon for the exes is just the default Launch4J icon

2) You *shouldn't* need admin permissions but if your computer has you locked down you might

3) Why are you suddenly switching tot he src/mdk? Yes, the old name for the MDK was src. This is not a bug.

Ok thanks, one more thinng how do you,

Find the create config

and how do you set it to true/false

I need it for a mod that dosent currently work

Screenshot (7).png

There's a folder in your Minecraft directory called config, in there you should search for the config file related to that mod and set the value behind the create key to true/false.

Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support.

1.12 -> 1.13 primer by williewillus.

1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support.
