wookiederk Posted January 19, 2013 Posted January 19, 2013 I currently have this: public void onBlockAdded(World par1World, int par2, int par3, int par4) { if (par1World.getBlockMetadata(par2, par3, par4) == 0) { } if (this.canPlaceFlowerOn(par1World, par2, par3 + 1, par4)) { par1World.setBlockMetadataWithNotify(par2, par3, par4, 5); } } That allows me to place it on the ceiling. But how can i rotate the flower to be upside-down? Quote http://mag.racked.eu/cimage/i6000/Achievement++get%21/Newb+Modder%21/mca.png[/img]
RegalBlaze Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 well you could just make a custom block texture for the flower and let him use that texture if the flower is placed on the ceiling Quote
wookiederk Posted January 24, 2013 Author Posted January 24, 2013 Ok, I hav the custom texture. how would i make it switch to the new texture when the person clicks at that angle? (Sorry, newb) Quote http://mag.racked.eu/cimage/i6000/Achievement++get%21/Newb+Modder%21/mca.png[/img]
RegalBlaze Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 I'm a noob too so i can't just give you the code unfortunately. But i think you should try it like this: onBlockAdded{ if( flower on ceiling code){ set texture for upside down flower code } } Or else maybe an if statement in the getBlockTextureFromSideAndMetadata code Sorry i can't be of too much help but i hope i've given you something Quote
GhostSnyperRecon Posted January 24, 2013 Posted January 24, 2013 right what you will want is something like this: you will need a variable to be stored somewhere, something like isUpsideDown = false; on block added, check to see if there is a block above it, if so set isUpsideDown = true; then have it change the bounding box dependant on whether or not upsidedown is true or not and then same for texture public static boolean isUpsideDown; public (yourblockclass)(int id, boolean par2) { super(id, Material.rock); isUpsideDown = par2; } public void onBlockAdded(World par1World, int par2, int par3, int par4) { if (par1World.getBlockMetadata(par2, par3, par4) == 0) { } if (this.canPlaceFlowerOn(par1World, par2, par3 + 1, par4)) { this.isUpsideDown = true; }else { this.isUpsideDown = false; } } public void onUpdate(World par1World) { if(par1World.isRemote) { if(isUpsideDown == true) { this.blockIndexInTexture = (your upsidedown texture id); }else { this.blockIndexInTexture = (your normal flower texture); } } } that code might work (it goes into your block file) , im in college right now so i cant access my code, but if you havent solved it by when i get home ill make some working code, hope this helps!
