Posted April 6, 20178 yr So, I found this topic on another forum of someone mentioning that you can adjust the max light level that a block can have by changing the way minecraft stores light from being 4bits to 8 bits. This all makes sense. I'm just wondering: where in the minecraft code can I change this?
April 6, 20178 yr Author I also seem to have found how Minecraft handles light colors: in BlockModelRenderer#renderQuadsSmooth and BlockModelRenderer#renderQuadsFlat. If anyone knows more about this, I'd love to hear your insight too.
April 6, 20178 yr You won't be able to do this with a Forge mod. Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked. DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.
April 6, 20178 yr You'd have to change Minecraft's source files, which you can't edit unless you use ASM which you are not going to get support for on here. And you are most likely going to have complications, so be prepared to deal with those on your own. Don't PM me with questions. They will be ignored! Make a thread on the appropriate board for support. 1.12 -> 1.13 primer by williewillus. 1.7.10 and older versions of Minecraft are no longer supported due to it's age! Update to the latest version for support. http://www.howoldisminecraft1710.today/
