I'm having some issues here installing minecraft forge.

My OS is slackware 64bit, minecraft version 1.4.7, and using minecraftforge-universal-1.4.7-6.6.0.497.zip. I've tried a few other versions with the same results. I've googled the error, and found only a post elsewhere that was answered with "Not all of Forge was installed into your .jar."

I'm pretty sure that's not the case here.

The error is as follows:

chopp@slack64 |

~/.minecraft | 06:51:56

$java -cp minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

asdf

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.

I've tried a fresh minecraft install three times now.

update: I finally got it working by using  different archive software.
