Hi all, first post  :)

I have come across a very common problem which I could not solve, I followed installation instructions on Windows 7 and it worked, but when I tried it on my old computer which has Windows XP, a black screen occurs. I don't know what's the problem I followed the EXACT instructions.

I'll give you a report on the "ForgeModLoader-client-0"

I have already updated my drivers, and Minecraft runs smoothly even without Forge. But after I installed Forge it starts to crash  :(

Update LWJGL. There's an article on the Minecraft Wiki on how to do so.

There's an EAQ for a reason. Read it!

"Note that failure to read this will make you look idiotic. You don't want that do you?" -- luacs1998

First rule of bug reports: More information is always better.

Oh, and logs OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!

Open Display Settings, go to the place where you change resolutions and such.

Click the Advanced button, then the Troubleshoot tab that is in the new window opened.

Adjust the slider back until minecraft works.

(note: may cause other games to crash)

Read the EAQ before posting! OR ELSE!

This isn't building better software, its trying to grab a place in the commit list of a highly visible github project.
