Just bought Minecraft Windows 10, PC version, downloaded Forge recommended version 1.8, unable to launch.  Directory is missing launcher profile, please run Minecraft launcher first.  Unable to find the launcher following the address they give me.  Please help, my son saved his allowance to buy game specifically for Mods.

    Where did you buy it from, and what specifically is it called? If it is the "Windows 10 Edition" it cannot run forge, you need the Java edition.

     

    Unfortunately I can't get a direct link to the one you'd want on minecraft.net, but on the list of editions it's just "Windows".
