Posted June 21, 20178 yr I'm a beginner at Minecraft Modding, and I was looking at this answer here: I'm stuck on this step right here: On 6/19/2017 at 5:42 PM, Matryoshika said: Create a public static void method, and subscribe it to the Register<Block> event. I'm trying to do that, and here is my method: @SubscribeEvent public static void registerBlocks(Register<Block> event){} I haven't added in the code inside the method yet, but the compiler gives an error at the Register<Block> part. Here's my error: The type Tcp.Register is not generic; it cannot be parameterized with arguments <Block> Then, it gives a suggestion to remove the type parameter. What can I do? I'm using Eclipse, and I'm coding in Minecraft 1.11
June 21, 20178 yr You're using the wrong Register class (Tcp.Register), while you should be using RegistryEvent.Register. Also, because the RegistryEvents are called before preInit, you should annotate the class with @EventBusSubscriber, so the class actually gets registered. I am pretty sure he needs to both annotate the class with EventBusSubscriber and methods with SubscribeEvent. EventBusSubscriber just tells forge to perform EVENT_BUS.register(TheClass.class), you still need SubscribeEvent to actually tell forge what methods to use as listeners.
