Posted August 8, 20178 yr I run a portable version of Minecraft and I've tried putting Forge versions off of my home computer, onto my flash drive, and on to another computer in the .minecraft folder. But I can't run Forge cause' it doesn't show up on the versions list on the launcher. I also can't install it because the computer doesn't have Java or Admin privileges. Is there anyway for me to run forge? -CreeperDestroyer7331 Edited August 8, 20178 yr by CreeperDestroyer7331

If the computer does not have the ability to run Java, you will not be able to run any Minecraft on there. I have a built-in java on my portable Minecraft but my problem is forge. It says I have to enter the admin's account password when I try the Windows Installer. Edited August 8, 20178 yr by CreeperDestroyer7331 Missed spelled XD
August 8, 20178 yr You're doing something wrong then. But you can always use the java installer which the exe is just a wrapper for. Beyond that Forge doesn't care what JRE you use, or where it's installed as long as you configure minecraft correctly. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
August 9, 20178 yr Author So I've decided to go with the .jar installer, I have the files for the latest version but do I need JRE or just open it with the javaw file?
August 9, 20178 yr javaw IS your JRE -.- Yes you NEED a JAVA RUNtime environment to RUN JAVA files. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
August 17, 20178 yr Author Ok, I found a solution using Java Portable from a third party source. It's sometimes sketchy and other times ok but I used it to run the forge installer but not the windows installer. Thanks for help ya'll.
