Posted February 24, 201312 yr Hello, I was wondering what your opinion is on giving out source code? Someone PM'd me on bukkit.org about a multiplayer plugin, and wanting the source code for it. Now, they could easily decompile it with a decompiler, so what would you do if you were in my situation? Thanks for reading, AhellHound
February 24, 201312 yr Is it your code? If not then no. If someone wants to decompile something themselves and look at it thats fine, but if they cant do that they probably wont understand what they are looking at anyways, so no. I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
February 25, 201312 yr Author Ya it's my code. They want to change the plugin to fit the specific needs of their server.
February 25, 201312 yr Then thats up to you, its your code you can give it to whomever you wish, or keep it for yourself, you can do whatever you want. But I do find it funny that you asked this question.. on a open source forum.. for an open source project.... with a ton of open source mods attached to it... I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated. Consider supporting the team on Patreon
February 25, 201312 yr Author I'm not against it or anything, I was just curious on other's opinions. But that is pretty funny .
