Hi Guys!

I'm still working on the AllergyMod. Now i want that for example if you have an allergy against gluten, every food, that includes till the lowest crafting-step, for example wheat, should be recognized and the player gets an allergic reaction. (Doesn't sound nice but i want it for more realism in a Modpack I'm doing for a friend...)

So just in case I formed the sentence bad:

I want the get all ingredients of a crafting recipe. Is it possible an if yes how?

If my English is not perfect it is not my fault! It's the fault of my teacher, parents, friends and google translator!

Which version of Minecraft are you using?

In 1.12+, use IRecipe#getIngredients to get a list of Ingredients in a recipe and Ingredient#getMatchingStacks to get a list of ItemStacks matched by an Ingredient.

IRecipe#getIngredients returns an empty list for special recipes with harcoded ingredients (e.g. RecipeBookCloningRecipeFireworks, etc.), it only returns a non-empty list for recipes that use a collection of Ingredient objects (e.g. ShapedRecipes, ShapelessRecipes, ShapedOreRecipe and ShapelessOreRecipe).

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.

Then you'll need to handle each recipe class individually.

For Vanilla's shaped/shapeless recipes, look for a field containing the collection of ItemStack ingredients.

For Forge's ore recipes, look for a field containing the collection of Object ingredients. Each Object can be either an ItemStack or a List<ItemStack>.

I strongly recommend updating to 1.12.1.

For 1.10, look at how I handled it here:

Don't worry about what the function is doing but rather on how its doing it.

Thanks! Based on this I coded a function, that can look up materials in the first level. But what should I do for recipes of the second level? (For example with other mods) Detect wheat in a bread that was baked in the furnace? Or a bread that was used for crafting again? Any Ideas

There are no second level recipes, everything's "first level."

If you have an item that is made up of non-resource items (say bookshelves: made out of books) you have to use a lookup table to figure out how much paper is involved: you know how many books the bookshelf is made out of, then multiply by the amount of paper in each book.
