Hello,

I have finally gotten a custom json recipe to work for my mod.  However i still cant figure out how to change the nbt of the result based on the ingredients used.  For example i have a custom nbt tag on the items being used in the recipe and i need to average those values and determine the result based on that.  I hope this made sense.  Any help would be appreciated.

You need a custom IRecipe implementation.

Have a look at Choonster's testmod3, you'll want to look at the gold armor upgrade things. Pay special attention to the _factories.json file.

Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable.  If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME.  Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice.

Exception: If you do not understand Java, I WILL NOT HELP YOU and your thread will get locked.

DO NOT PM ME WITH PROBLEMS. No help will be given.

Thank you I already have an IRecipe implementation I just didn't know how to change the output which I believe I have found in the example mod.

You need to implement IRecipe#getCraftingResult to iterate through the InventoryCrafting and find the input ItemStack(s) that will determine the output NBT, then create and return the output ItemStack with the appropriate NBT.

As Draco said, I do this for item damage in the ShapedArmourUpgradeRecipe class.

Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
