Hey, I am having real trouble making my mod compatible with NEI, since I have a new crafting table and furnace it doesn't pick up on the recipes and show the user what and how to craft certain things, I have been trying to use and play around with the nei api, but seem to have trouble installing it and getting it working, so was wondering if anyone knows how to make a plugin, or can help me with integrating it into my mod.

this awaits me too. after browsing through NEI api I'm not really eager to start working on it - api seems a bit too complex. some tutorial or example plugin (simple mod, not whole NEI) would be useful, unfortunately I haven't seen one.

Yeah I have been looking at it and it just doesn't quite make enough sense for me to understand, and an example would be great to see how its done, hopefully someone will help us out.

I am also interested in this matter.I have made a mod that adds new machines and people do not know what recipes they offer so creating a plugin for NEI will be such a useful thing...To bad I can't find any tutorials out there...

what about someone decompiles some of the existing plugins for it?

you are no legally allowed to decompile code unless it is open-source or you are given permission.

found some open-source mod using NEI - https://github.com/Alex-hawks/Electric-Expansion/tree/master/src/minecraft/electricexpansion/nei, too bad I have so little time these days .
