I'm trying to create a mod in 1.12.2, and have been unable to find any useful tutorials on creating armor. I've gotten as far as creating my helmet class, texture, and JSON model. I then created the layer_1 and layer_2 textures and put them under /textures/models/armor. I set the helmets renderlayer to 1. It still just displays a large black block for the helmet.
