Hi folks, couple questions:

1) I've noticed that getWeakPower, getStrongPower, and canProvidePower methods are marked as deprecated now. What is the new method to emit redstone signals?

2) If your answer to #1 was to just continue using the deprecated methods, what is the difference between getWeakPower and getStrongPower?

Many thanks,

Shawn

1) ALL block methods are deprecated. Deprecated means "do not invoke" as you are supposed to only call the same methods from the IBlockState object, not the block class.

You are perfectly fine implementing and overriding these methods.

Thanks! It's been a while since I dabbled in Forge and things have changed quite a bit.

Do you have a link to a resource for GUI's? The examples I'm finding all deal with inventory slots, and what I want is a simple UI with two buttons that change the value of an integer for a tile entity.

Thanks in advance,

Shawn

Not a TE, but the process is much the same:

https://github.com/Draco18s/ReasonableRealism/blob/master/src/main/java/com/draco18s/ores/client/gui/GuiContainerOreCart.java

The function at line 71 handles the buttons.
