This is the condition I faced to:

I'm live in China, and My ISP added the ForgeModloader update check website into a blacklist,so I can't reach it.

I play the Minecraft under Ubuntu, and When I installed Forge&ForgeModloader,It's will pause at the Screen of Mojang LOGO for about five minutes everytime, then show the title menu.

I open MC in Terminal,  it shows that when MC paused at the Screen  of Mojang LOGO,the program have finished activate the mods, when MC goes title menu,it throw an error, most like this:ForgeModLoader Update Check TimeOut.

If I cut down the Internet before open MC, It's OK.

I check the .minecraft/config thers'is no cfg value that I can disabled the AutoUpdateCheck.

Is anybody knows how can I disabled ForgeModloader Update Check Manually?

    Thanks!

    Sorry for my pool English.

thanks LexManos!  I checked the mods' cfg again, It's the bspkrsCore caused the problem,I modified the cfg,All it's OK.

FML Doesn't auto-update. It downloads required libraries, if you have those libraires it won't even try to connect.

Some other mod you have installed must be connecting out.

I do Forge for free, however the servers to run it arn't free, so anything is appreciated.
