So how would I go about doing this? i want to hide the minecraft "Attack Damage" tag from a custom ItemSword class? i'm still kinda new to this stuff so bear with me ;p

I am not entirely sure that you can. That "tag" is added by a chunk of vanilla code that runs after an item's addInformation() method is called.

There is a tootip information event, but I don't know if it runs before or after that chunk of vanilla code.

The event fires afterwards.

Makes sense. It was just an event I'd never used and hadn't looked into, so I wasn't sure where in the ordering of things it was.

ah well at least i understand that much now,  on a similar note, is it possible to just hide all of the 'tags' from the item in general or keep it from displaying, kinda similar to how you can do with commands?
