So recently, I started modding Minecraft and was fairly successful at it, sadly a problem occurred, as when I tried to Play, it never loaded up, or it crashed and said something about an "unexpected interruption". After that I went to forge and tried to re-download it. I figured out that there was a problem where I could not download forge because of some missing files (Scala files). So I decided to try and figure out what was wrong with it myself, so I deleted and reinstalling Minecraft and I deleted WinRAR. After all that and a combination of research I figured out that many people have this same problem, and many people have posted links and videos on how to fix this problem, but all of them where outdated, most of the links did not work. I proceeded to download the missing files and put them where they should be, but unfortunately, Forge still gave me the error message about how it was missing the files, at this point I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, If anyone has any higher knowledge about this problem please let me know because I am no modder.

Also excuse any miss-spelled words, I'm not the best writer, or typer. Thank you in advance!

The forge installer does not recognize manually downloaded files, have you tried these instructions?

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

Well, i understand where to find the (minecraft-forge) folder but, there is nothing in it and i don't know what to do, and even if there was anything in it.

What part of the instructions are you getting stuck on?

The jar version of the installer yes, the download button for it is right next to the one for the windows installer.

Did you get the installer or the universal?

Is that supposed to be sarcasm or are you trying to be 1337 or something?

shoot well first off Sorry and no that wasn't sarcasm, You really did help, i'm just in a quirky mood right now, and Second when i try and play minecraft forge, it always goes into a "not responding" state  where i can only click exit the program. So you did help with something but now a new problem occurred. ?

During loading sometimes Minecraft will do that on lower end machines, give it a bit and it should continue loading.

(Windows is a bit crap with how it detects frozen programs)

Unless it stays like that for several full minutes, yes. If it does stay like that for that long please upload your debug.log to pastebin or GitHub's Gist service and post the link it gives you.

easiest way to get to it on windows is to open a Run prompt (Windows Key + R) and type

%APPDATA%\.minecraft\logs

You need to use the command line, not powershell. You can use the command line from powershell by typing in cmd.
