awngz Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 Hi I want to get entities near the player. I have read the forums and decided the method to use was getEntitiesWithinAABB() in World class. However i'm not sure if I'm getting the world correctly, and unsure of what to put in the first paramater. I did this so far : Minecraft mc = Minecraft.getMinecraft(); BlockPos playerPos = mc.player.getPosition(); int playerX = playerPos.getX(); int playerY = playerPos.getY(); int playerZ = playerPos.getZ(); AxisAlignedBB playerRange = new AxisAlignedBB(playerX - 10, playerY - 10, playerZ - 10, playerX + 10, playerY + 10, playerZ + 10); List<Entity> list = mc.player.world.getEntitiesWithinAABB(mc.player, playerRange); There is an error for the first parameter of getEntitiesWithinAABB() because I am unsure what to put there. It is supposed to be type Class <? extends T > , but I have no idea what that means. I am very new to modding so please correct my code Quote
Draco18s Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 The first parameter is a Class. E.g. EntityLivingBase.class Quote Apparently I'm a complete and utter jerk and come to this forum just like to make fun of people, be confrontational, and make your personal life miserable. If you think this is the case, JUST REPORT ME. Otherwise you're just going to get reported when you reply to my posts and point it out, because odds are, I was trying to be nice. Terrails Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 (edited) using Minecraft will only work on client, you'll crash when you run a dedicated server... you should probably use world instance from the parameters of a method in case of Block/Item, Events.... and from the class in case of TileEntity... etc. Look at sides for more info Edited June 16, 2018 by Terrails Quote

Terrails Posted June 16, 2018 Posted June 16, 2018 I meant when you override a method for your custom block/item... some of them have World as parameter Quote
