Hi Everyone!

I have just come back to minecraft after a few years Im Interested in learning how to make my own custom NPC/Mob/Entity. However after spending the last 2-3 days trying to find and learn the process on how this is done I found myself running into completely out of date tutorials/programs or finding out the program im using it out of date or not compatible with other programs.

From what I have found out so far, the most recent and update to date tool for creating mob/entity related mods is McCreator however it limitation is that you can only animate custom mobs via already existing mobs. Apparently this also requires Techne (which is very outdated or hard to get a link for). I have played around in Tabula (which I think is also compatible with McCreator) but the interface is quite painful to work with (eg every placed block needs to have its coordinates put in by hand). There are much more user friendly programs such as Cubik Studio or BlockBench but these appear to be for only making objects, not entities, and are not compatible with McCreator (as far as I can tell).

Overall im finding this process quite confusing. My goal is to find out whats the most user friendly program for modeling an entity, what program can assist with animating that entity and for AI, ill settle with borrowing the pre-existing AI for now. I just cant seem to find a up to date tutorial that actually works.

I would really appreciate some direction, thank you :)
