Hi, this might be a dumb question, but is there any way to not use a random player when debugging? Aside from packaging the mod and running it in release mode, that is. Google isn't helping much; the only topic I could find on the subject was this one from 2012, where the answer was "just use Start.java".

I don't necessarily care about using a real account, I'd just like for the player's UUID to stop changing every time.

You can use your own credentials by using the -username and -p program arguments in your launch configuration.

Do note that this will result in your username and password being saved in plaintext in the launch configuration files.

I'm not sure of other methods of doing this but someone with more dev experience might chime in.

This is my Forum Signature, I am currently attempting to transform it into a small guide for fixing easier issues using spoiler blocks to keep things tidy.

As the most common issue I feel I should put this outside the main bulk:

The only official source for Forge is https://files.minecraftforge.net, and the only site I trust for getting mods is CurseForge.

If you use any site other than these, please take a look at the StopModReposts project and install their browser extension, I would also advise running a virus scan.

For players asking for assistance with Forge please expand the spoiler below and read the appropriate section(s) in its/their entirety.

You can use just -username to get a consistent username, no need to log in. And I think you can even use --uuid to specify a consistent UUID, see net.minecraft.client.main.Main.

Wow, that was easy, thanks!
