Universal Minecraft Editor not saving on Java 1.12.2

Good morning,

First I would like to thank the people here that helped me sort out the whole Forge thing, my son now has lucky blocks which makes him very happy.

I am now using the Java version 1.12.2 and I seem to be having issues trying to get the Universal Minecraft Editor to save anything. I try making crazy weapons which I can do on the Windows 10 version without issue but for some reason I make the weapon and save it but it will not update on my Java version character. I also tried making things in the Windows 10 version and copying them over and still no luck. The Java version is using the Forge and has the lucky block mod installed.

Any ideas or tricks I am missing here in order to save the items I make on the Java version?

Thank you.

To edit the host player, you need to edit the Player tag found in World Settings. The host player file goes unused by the game. The UME works fine. Items and edits do not always transfer over from Windows 10 edition to Java edition, so whatever you're trying will likely not function how you want it to.

For future support requests about the UME, please contact me directly through my website https://www.mcmodtool.com

But does it work on Java Edition?

@ForeverLore This thread is old. Please create your own thread for your question.

Some tips:

Modder Support:

1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code.

2. Always post your code.

3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that.

Programming via Eclipse's hotfixes will get you nowhere

5. Learn to use your IDE, especially the debugger.

Support & Bug Reports:

Spoiler

1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s).

2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

    • I made a block entity in forge 1.20.1, I want to prevent hopper from taking input slot item, i tried to override the extractItem method, it prevented hopper from taking input slot item, but the player also unable to take/change the item in input slot unless the slot is empty. public class FluidSeparatorBlockEntity extends BlockEntity implements MenuProvider { private static final int INPUT_SLOT = 0; private final CustomItemHandler itemHandler = new CustomItemHandler(3){ @Override protected void onContentsChanged(int slot) { setChanged(); } @Override public boolean isItemValid(int slot, @NotNull ItemStack stack) { return slot == INPUT_SLOT; } @Override public @NotNull ItemStack extractItem(int slot, int amount, boolean simulate) { if (slot == INPUT_SLOT) { return ItemStack.EMPTY; } return super.extractItem(slot, amount, simulate); } }; private LazyOptional<IItemHandler> lazyItemHandler = LazyOptional.empty(); • No dice. Unfortunately this fix didn't work, thank you though.
    • Maybe you need a rayon mod. https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/rayon
    • Not sure what's going on the logs are making even less sense than usual to me. Any help would be much appreciated.   https://paste.ee/p/KBHyP#s=0
