Posted February 18, 20196 yr I've read https://mcforge.readthedocs.io/en/1.13.x/utilities/tags/ and looked at the Tag and TagCollection source via my IDE, but maybe I'm missing something; is there a way to find out what tag groups a given Item belongs to? The use-case being the need to compare two different items and see if they have any tag groups in common, for item filtering purposes (basically, a replacement for oredict-filtering).
February 18, 20196 yr It looks like TagCollection#getOwningTags does this, but it's a client-only method so you'll need to copy its logic rather than call it directly. This iterates through all registered tags of the TagCollection's type, so you may need to cache the results if you call this frequently. Please don't PM me to ask for help. Asking your question in a public thread preserves it for people who are having the same problem in the future.
