Posted March 4, 20196 yr Could anyone send me a function that would draw a rectangle on the user's screen, given (x1, x2, y1, y2), every frame? (I am new to forge) I have tried asking this for 1.8.9, but that is old, so I updated to a more recent version of the game.

I assume that you are trying to draw an overlay, in which case I would suggest you to check out this tutorial: https://github.com/TheGreyGhost/MinecraftByExample/tree/master/src/main/java/minecraftbyexample/mbe40_hud_overlay. Replace the drawing overlay code with your own drawing code (or in this case, Gui#drawRect). Your IDE should help you to figure out the rest. Edited March 5, 20196 yr by DavidM Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code. 2. Always post your code. 3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that. 4. Quote Programming via Eclipse's hotfixes will get you nowhere 5. Learn to use your IDE, especially the debugger. 6. Quote The "picture that's worth 1000 words" only works if there's an obvious problem or a freehand red circle around it. Support & Bug Reports: Spoiler 1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s). 2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.

I looked at your link, but it seemed to be for rendering images. Could you send me some code for just drawing a plain rectangle (by knowing the vertices)? You are correct about me trying to draw an overlay.
