Ok, this is my first mod and I really need some help to make it. It'll be basically an *utility mod* that only works on whitelisted servers and it'll introduce some tools and new features to the game.

My goal is making an interface like this:

vOivcNO.png

But Minecraft doesn't find the background texture:

WvPKCqi.png

I wouldn't be here asking help if I didn't try everything that I know to fix it. I'm really lost and I'd really apreciate any reply.

Everything seems correct to me: the filepaths, mod id, ...

I published the mod on GitHub if you guys wanna see it and help me find the issue:

changed the final sentence

Your ResourceLocation should be something like this:

private static final ResourceLocation TEXTURE = new ResourceLocation(YOUR_MOD_ID + ":textures/gui/some_gui.png");

Your ResourceLocation looks like this:

ResourceLocation texture = new ResourceLocation(Reference.MOD_ID,"/textures/gui/moduleListGUI.png");

1. Notice the colon (shouldn't be needed if you are using the 2 parameter constructor though).

2. You are adding an extra slash.

(The resource location should be toString to "modid:textures/gui/blah.png")

1. Do not follow tutorials on YouTube, especially TechnoVision (previously called Loremaster) and HarryTalks, due to their promotion of bad practice and usage of outdated code.

2. Always post your code.

3. Never copy and paste code. You won't learn anything from doing that.

Support & Bug Reports:

Spoiler

1. Read the EAQ before asking for help. Remember to provide the appropriate log(s).

2. Versions below 1.11 are no longer supported due to their age. Update to a modern version of Minecraft to receive support.
