Posted May 5, 20196 yr I am trying to test if a certain item has been dropped. I am aware of the ItemTossEvent event, but I'm not really sure how to use it. Any help would be appreciated!

May 5, 20196 yr Author Okay, so how do you do that exactly? I have been trying to make it work for a while now, and it still won't do anything. Here's my current code to tell the player when they drop anything @Mod(Reference.MODID) public class DroppedItem { @SubscribeEvent public void onItemTossEvent(ItemTossEvent itemTossEvent) { Minecraft.getInstance().player.sendChatMessage("you dropped something"); } } Edited May 5, 20196 yr by ketchup_god

Also make the onItemTossEvent static (refer to this picture for more explanation on when event bus subscriber should be static). 31 minutes ago, ketchup_god said: Minecraft.getInstance().player.sendChatMessage("you dropped something"); That is going to crash on a server. Hopefully you are only using it temporarily for debugging purposes. Edited May 6, 20196 yr by DavidM Some tips: Spoiler Modder Support: Spoiler 1.
