Man, I knew I was stupid but I didn't think that stupid... welp. Thanks for helping me with my server. Have a nice day everyone. Hopefully, next time I'm there it will be to help someone instead of being helped... One last question. Is it possible to bring up the server's console? can I make a shortcut to do so? because when I start the forge version the console doesn't stay up for long.

I'm not 100% sure what it does, I think the option is there for advanced network configurations.

In general you'll want to leave it blank and let the server auto-determine what its IP is.

In server.properties you want to set the port but not the IP, the defaults of blank IP and 25565 for the port should work just fine for you.

You connect to it using localhost as the IP, your friends use your public IP, assuming you've done the port-forwarding thing
